Brighton Recreation Area

📍: Brighton

Stretching 4,947 acres, the Brighton Recreation Area is known for its combination of high, irregular ranges of hills and lakes. Stocked full of hiking, biking, and equestrian trails, this recreation area is here for more than just a day at the beach. Although, Bishop Lake houses Jump Island, an inflatable waterpark for the ultimate summer activity.

Kensington Metropark

📍: Milford

Experience the feeling of Michigan’s “Up North” in the 4,486 acres of the Kensington Metropark. This park offers sprawling wooded, hilly terrain perfect for getting on a bike or going for a hike. Cool off after a day of adventuring by jumping into Kent Lake at Maple Beach or Martindale Beach. For a fun day of water activities, go to Splash ‘n’ Blast with its two 240-foot waterslides, splash pad, and water spray area.

Huron Meadows Metropark

📍: Brighton

A little piece of serenity awaits you at Huron Meadows Metropark in Brighton. This 1,560-acre park offers a wide variety of outdoor activities. Experience an 18-hole golf course, access to the Huron River Water Trail, and go fishing on Maltby Lake.

Scofield Park

📍: Howell

Scofield Park is nestled in Downtown Howell. Spend the day relaxing on the beach of Thompson Lake, cruising the waters, playing on the playground, or having a picnic. After a day at the beach, head to downtown Howell for boutique shopping and a delicious meal.

Island Lake Recreation Area

📍: Brighton

Island Lake Recreation Area covers 4,000 acres in Brighton featuring miles of hiking and biking trails, multiple beaches, and many more outdoor recreation activities. Drop your kayak, canoe, or paddleboard on the Huron River, cast your reel in Island Lake, or go for a swim in the Mill Pond.

Pinckney Recreation Area

📍: Pinckney

The Pinckney Recreation Area is by far the largest in the area. Stretching over 11,000 acres, this recreation area is your one-stop shop for outdoor recreation. Hike or bike miles of trails like the famous Potawatomi Trail, drop your kayak in one of the many lakes or bring your horse along the equestrian trails.
