One of Howell’s most popular attractions is M. Street Baking Co., which is known for its delicious sweets and over-the-top milkshakes! They have been featured on various news segments, and have over 74,000 likes on their Facebook page. Lucky for you, we got the inside scoop from their General Manager, Liz Wood.
What is the history of M Street Baking Co. and why did you choose to have a store in Livingston County?
M Street Baking Co. is a dessert destination for kids and adults. We are open from 8 am-8 pm, with breakfast items such as bagels, muffins, and lattes! Pizza rolls, salads and sandwiches for lunch and late-night cupcakes, milkshakes, and more! We started our online business in 2015 and opened our brick and mortar in June 2018! We chose Howell for our store because it is a historic small town, but with a modern twist and tight-knit community.
What types of food does M Street Baking Co. offer?
The desserts we offer include cupcakes, milkshakes, cookies, cheesecakes, baklava, macarons, edible cookie, brownies and so much more! For non-desserts, we have pizza rolls, spinach pie, cheese pita, bagels, salads, sandwiches and so much more! Our items change daily!
What is your bestselling item?
Definitely our milkshakes. We have five or six flavors at a time, with our four signature flavors and rotating seasonal flavors.
Does M Street Baking Co. offer any desserts for those with diet restrictions?
Yes, our vanilla and chocolate cupcakes, cakes, coconut macaroons, and our peanut butter cookie is gluten-free. Our plain and everything bagels are vegan, as well as our snickerdoodle cookie.
Does M Street Baking Co. make custom cupcakes or cakes for special occasions or holidays? How much advanced notice is needed?
Yes, we are a very popular bakery that books quickly on their custom cakes and cupcakes. A two-week notice is ideal, but we sometimes have openings within the week. Give us a call to check! We have an events team that will help plan your perfect dessert table based around your favorites and budget. As for holidays, we have cupcakes, pies, cookies and so much more! Check out our Facebook or stop in to see our seasonal menus! Also, a bakery box full of baked goods is a great hostess gift!
Does M Street Baking Co. offer any classes or events for kids and adults to attend?
No classes at this time, but keep an eye out for a possible 2020 class schedule. Keep an eye on our social media for special events, such as our unicorn, mermaid and other charity events!
What is your address and contact information for customers?
Our address is 117 N. Michigan Ave Howell, MI 48843. We are open 8 am-8 pm, hours may vary for holidays.
