Best Livingston County Beach Spots

August 29, 2019 | Story by: Amelia Ritter

Fall may be quickly approaching, but that doesn’t mean we can’t soak in the last little bits of summer with some beach time! In fact, Friday, August 30th is National Beach Day! To celebrate, here are some of our favorite beaches for swimming in Livingston County.

Scofield Park

Howell’s Scofield Park is a great place to spend the afternoon taking a walk, having a picnic, or enjoying the beach at Thompson Lake. The park has a $10 gate fee, but it’s worth it! After a nice walk downtown, enjoy a peaceful afternoon at the beach with your family.

Livingston County is home to 184 lakes! Though not all are public and not all have beach access, there are tons of opportunities to enjoy the water. Dunham Lake, Strawberry Lake, Bennett Lake, and Lake Chemung are local favorites, among others. Which lake is your favorite? Remember to tag #LoveLivCo on your visits so we can see the county through your eyes!
