Pinckney

In the Pinckney area, it’s a call that cannot be denied. With over 11,000 acres of parks that beckon to be explored, a chain of lakes that threads its way through the serene landscape, several golf courses for hitting the links at any level, and a 20-mile trail that traverses the extent of the region, the draw to nature here is irresistible.

The Lakelands Trail State Park has become a vital artery for the community and a main thoroughfare for pedestrians, cyclists and equestrians alike. Trail heads and favorite stopping points such as Cap’n Frosty old-fashioned ice cream shop and waterside Zukey Lake Tavern offer convenient options to refresh and recharge, or meet friends along the way.

Over 11,000 acres at Pinckney Recreation Area await thrill-seekers and nature lovers alike. The massive park unfolds with stunning vistas and endless options for camping, hiking and hunting. Dive into the chain of lakes with its inviting waters ready for swimmers, boaters, kayakers and anglers alike. Mountain bikers can strive to conquer the famous Potawatomi Trail – ranked as one of the top trails in the state. In April each year the “Poto” also serves as the rugged race course for the Michigan Trail Marathon, with 5 mile, half- and full-marathon distances…and a 50K ultramarathon for the truly daring.
